We currently have an opening for a Senior Process Engineer within our Nitride Epi group. This position will be stationed at our headquarters facility in Raleigh/Durham, NC.
Summary:
In this position, you will have the opportunity to become a technical leader of an epitaxial engineering team responsible for high-volume manufacturing of a broad range of nitride based LED products. Your role will involve maintaining and improving production MOCVD reactors and their associated LED manufacturing processes. This is not a “sit behind the desk job”. Instead, you’ll be out on our clean-room manufacturing floor about 80% of your day, working hands on with our equipment alongside other engineers and scientists.
You will have the chance to mentor, coach and train junior engineers and manufacturing technicians, while driving yield and process improvements projects across the MOCVD tools that you own. You will have 24x7 process ownership of these reactors and be responsible and accountable for their performance. . Every day, you will be making key decisions on what to improve based on thorough and timely data analysis. Use of designed experimentation will be very critical in helping you identify and eliminate yield limiters.

Requirements:

BS degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or other related degree with semiconductor coursework

3 years experience in the semiconductor industry

Knowledge of SPC and experimental design

Candidate must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder

Must have a “whatever it takes” attitude
Preferences:

MS or PhD degree in Materials Science or Chemical Engineering

5-7 years experience in the semiconductor industry

3+ years experience with Thin Films
-
3+ years working with MOCVD reactors

Undergrad GPA of 3.3 or better. Graduate GPA of 3.5 or better.
