Summary:

            Development engineering role focused in the SiC Crystal Growth and wafer processing area of the Materials Business.  This position will require successful execution of both new process development, as well as sustaining and improvement of existing processes. A successful candidate will have a background in the following areas:

  1. Graphite materials, quality control, and characterization.
  2. Materials behavior and characterization of silicon, carbon, and/or silicon carbide.
  3. Semiconductor processing, such as high temperature growth, vacuum system growth technology and/or related unit operations.
  4. Machining of parts and quality control.

This position will require successful execution of process control and improvement activities in a face-paced, high volume manufacturing line with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across business units and depts.

Responsibilities:

  • Transfer products and processes from R&D to Production
  • Establish procedures and qualification plan for brining new processes on line
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance for manufacturing processes
  • Perform capability, repeatability and cost analysis on processes
  • Support downstream customers and new product development
  • Perform process characterization to document new and existing processes/products
  • Investigate, establish and implement requirements for equipment, tooling, materials and methods of production that will minimize cost, enhance quality, and increase throughput.
  • Must be able to work several projects simultaneously and successfully having demonstrated success in complete process ownership within a 24x7 manufacturing environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Ceramic, Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • 2+ years in a Development Engineering or Process Sustaining role
  • High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills, and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds at different levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail while effectively managing time and multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and schedules

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS or PhD Degree preferred.
  • Experience in semiconductor crystal growth
