SUMMARY: 

This position provides technical equipment support for the wafer fab and associated semiconductor manufacturing areas. This individual will be part of a team that installs new equipment and provides support through the qualification, hand-off, and assists sustaining technicians as required.  Successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to perform corrective, preventative and predictive maintenance tasks designed to improve/sustain equipment availability, reliability and maintainability. Successful experienced candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong troubleshooting capability and exemplary “root cause” corrective skills and techniques.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs Electro-mechanical root cause troubleshooting of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles equipment according to operating manuals, schematics, blueprints, etc.
  • Use test and diagnostic equipment to perform equipment checks.
  • Works with process engineers to understand process-equipment interactions and limitations relative to operating specs.
  • As needed, modifies equipment to improve up- time or overall process performance.
    Performs routine preventive maintenance on tools in accordance with equipment specifications.
  • Supports production as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Prefer AA Degree in Electronics technology. Will also consider Military training or substantial equivalent experience.
  • Able to read and interpret instructions, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Must be able to perform mechanical tasks related to the installation, repair, and modification of process equipment.
  • Must be a self-starter that is organized, detailed, conscientious, ambitious and thorough.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.
  • Must have demonstrated a high level of dependability.
  • Have a ‘Whatever it takes’ attitude.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment.
  • Must be able to lift 65 lbs.
  • Good manual dexterity essential

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Semiconductor equipment experience.
