Performs a variety of plant electrical engineering work in designing, planning and overseeing manufacture, construction, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical equipment. Provides support in the area of electrical plant systems, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers and cable systems.  The primary responsibilities will be around having a comprehensive knowledge in plant electrical systems from low voltage to high voltage.

   RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate and execute electrical engineering concept designs in support of capital and operations projects.
• Troubleshoot various plant electrical engineering issues.
• Use, oversee and manage outside electrical engineering consultants.
• Be a desired and respected resource to the Facility Engineering group for plant electrical engineering expertise.

   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

BS EE engineering or equivalent experience

• Minimum of 10 years of operations & maintenance experience in a plant environment doing electrical engineering work
• Expert knowledge in the area of electrical plant systems, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers,  cable systems
• In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, including those for power distribution, low and medium voltage, AC and DC motors and drives.
• Experienced in start  up of electrical systems including trouble shooting and problem resolution
• Thorough knowledge of relevant codes: NEC, OSHA, NFPA and ANSI.
• Able to do conceptual, and final designs for electrical capital and maintenance projects, execute or oversee the design documentation, administer on-site electrical construction activities, and act as the design representative, serving as a project between the Facility Engineering and Facility Operations and groups.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Direct experience in industry as a electrical plant engineer or serving n a similar plant electrical role.
• Minimum of 15 years experience in a plant environment doing electrical engineering work.
• Experience in computer-assisted engineering and design software
