Summary:

Equipment engineering role focused in the SiC wafer processing area of the Materials Business.  A successful candidate will have a background in semiconductor equipment and processes including vacuum systems, robotics, and control systems.  This position will require successful execution ofproject management with demonstrated ability to identify equipment improvements, manage change and implement solution.  Candidate must be able to work several projects simultaneously and demonstrate success in complete process ownership within a 24x7 manufacturing environment

Responsibilities:

  • Qualify new process equipment and hand-off to production according to established procedures.
  • Work with engineering and sustaining teams to create and maintain PM and maintenance procedures, training materials, technician qualification procedures for manufacturing equipment
  • Interface with Process Engineering, Manufacturing and Management to improve tool availability, wafer throughput, process/product yield, and drive scrap and maintenance cost reductions
  • Mentor technical maintenance staff on advanced troubleshooting techniques
  • Provide top level support of extended or chronic tool down issues
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Provide general engineering support for a variety of off-the-shelf and custom engineering projects

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Ceramic, Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • 2+ years in a Equipment Engineering role with expertise in one or more of the following: vacuum systems, robotics, and control systems.
  • High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills, and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds at different levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail while effectively managing time and multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and schedules

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of Wafer Equipment Engineering experience
  • Experience with design, modification, and assembly of complicated machinery – wafer processing equipment.
