Department:Materials R&D
Shift: 1st Non-Mfg.

Summary:

Development engineering role focused in the SiC Crystal Growth and wafer manufacturing area of the Materials Business.  The successful candidate will have a strong background in semiconductor wafer manufacturing operations such as wire sawing, grinding, lapping, and/or polishing.  This position will require successful execution of both new process development, as well as sustaining and improvement of existing processes.This role will also provide contributions to equipment improvement  through development of tool metrics to analyze performance and reliability. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new processes for SiC wafer manufacturing to improve quality, cost and throughput
  • Transfer products and processes from R&D to Production
  • Establish procedures and qualification plan for brining new processes on line
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance for manufacturing processes
  • Support downstream customers and new product development
  • Must be able to work several projects simultaneously and successfully having demonstrated success in complete process ownership within a 24x7 manufacturing environment

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Ceramic, Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • 2+ years in a Development Engineering or Process Sustaining role
  • High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills, and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds at different levels of the organization
  • Strong attention to detail while effectively managing time and multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and schedules

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing
  • MS Degree preferred.
