 SUMMARY:

Cree is looking for a self-motivated, hands-on process engineer to own projects related to new process and product development.  The successful candidate will be a resourceful problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical issues through the implementation of practical solutions to complicated problems.  This position within our LED Chips Group will be stationed at our headquarters facility in Raleigh/Durham, NC.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Take ownership of, and drive to completion, projects related to new product and process development.  Projects may involve all aspects of product or process design, development, and sustaining.
• Conduct optical and electrical testing of optoelectronic devices. 
• Work with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop next generation LED chip technologies and coordinate transfers of these products to production
• Analyze, summarize, and present data in a clear concise manner.

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physical Science or other semiconductor related discipline.
• Willing to work diligently with minimal guidance and to develop habits in-line with the Cree culture (be a team player, dedicated, willing to work outside the scope of normal job duties and past experience, and have ‘whatever-it-takes’ attitude).
• Ablility to manage /complete multiple projects simultaneously and successfully.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including technical writing for summarizing data and finding, writing process and equipment specifications and work instructions.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Flexible work schedule to support 24 x 7 development and manufacturing.  Position will be 2^nd shift, either Sun. – Thur. or Tues. - Sat.
