Process Development Engineer (Epitaxial Growth)

We currently have an opening for a Process Engineer within our Opto R&D group. This position will be stationed at our headquarters facility in Raleigh/Durham, NC.
SUMMARY:
You will be part of a R&D team that is responsible for the development and improvement of MOCVD epitaxial growth for III-Nitride LED products. In order to be successful in this position you should be a resourceful, hands-on, problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges who thrives in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented atmosphere. This position is open to entry-level applicants.
In this position you will Support a team of scientists and engineers through ownership of process and equipment aspects of MOCVD growth. You will provide contributions to process improvement through scheduling of runs, tracking process parameters, and troubleshooting process and equipment problems
You will Analyze parametric data and prepare summaries (both written and verbal) for distribution internally to the R&D team and also for broader distribution to production teams
In this position you will own projects related to process development; these projects may involve working directly with production manufacturing teams. Y ou will have the opportunity be a technical lead for the R&D team during 2nd shift while supporting 24x7 R&D operations (including off-shift response as necessary).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related technical field

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Able to make individual contributions while staying focused on the goals of the group.

Able to adjust to changing priorities and schedules to keep development projects on-track.

Strong attention to detail.

Self-starter with strong personal work ethic; must have a "whatever it takes" attitude.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience with semiconductor vacuum technology, especially MOCVD growth

Experience with databases and data analysis tools (SQL, Access, JMP, Excel, etc.)

Previous work in a cleanroom environment

Compound semiconductor experience, particularly optoelectronic materials
SHIFT:

2nd Shift + 1 weekend day
