 Research Scientist - Epitaxial Growth

SUMMARY:

In this position you will have the opportunity work with a team of Scientists, Engineers and Technicians to develop, improve and integrate new epitaxial growth processes for III-N LED products. As a Research Scientist you will lead process improvement projects and coordinate process transfers to production teams.  Expand your epitaxial growth skills (e.g. epitaxial layer characterization, equipment maintenance, experiment design and scheduling) and take ownership of MOCVD reactors and processes.

In order to be successful in this position you will need to be a resourceful hands-on problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical problems while managing one of more development efforts.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field is required. 0-5 years experience in semiconductor industry in manufacturing or R&D capacity
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Able to summarize data and communicate findings quickly to support 24x7 R&D operation process.
  • Thrive in a high-pressure deadline-oriented atmosphere
  • Possess a “whatever it takes" attitude.

PREFERENCES:

  • Data analysis skills and experience with Access and JMP
  • Prior hands-on experience with characterization techniques such as photoluminescence, capacitance-voltage, Hall, double crystal x-ray diffraction, SEM, EDS, and/or SIMS
  • Relevant work experience, such as III-N epitaxial layer growth or III-V LED experience.
