We currently have an opening for a R&D Process Technician I/II within our Opto R&D group. This position will be stationed at our facility in Durham, NC.
Summary:
This position is for a Process Technician I or II, depending on qualifications, to work on a night shift schedule (6:00pm – 6:00am). The qualified individual will be working with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians to develop and transfer into production new wafer singulation and testing processes for LED products.
You will have the opportunity to complete process development tasks and projects focused on improved device performance, increased yields, and/or reduced cost per die. Plus you will be able to process and coordinate the processing of R&D and new product wafers through P&T.
Shift: 12 hour night
Requirements:

Minimum AA degree in a technical field.

Expertise in one or more of the following processes: Probe, inspection, die separation, die sort, lamp assembly desired.

Good manual dexterity-able to handle wafers with tweezers.

Able to perform microscopic inspections for extended periods.

Able to work in a clean room for extended periods.

Operational experience in LED package and test processes.

Computer literacy – must have experience with MS Excel and Word.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Self-motivated. Ability to effectively complete responsibilities with minimal supervision.

Must be a team player.

Must have a flexible work schedule and the ability to work overtime on short notice.

Must be able to work closely with engineers to develop and qualify new processes and equipment. This will include setting up and completing designed experiments, collecting data, inspections and dispositions, and performing characterization.

Must be able to adjust to changing priorities and schedules.

Must be self-motivated to complete tasks and find new ones in a timely fashion.

Able to document work using existing databases.

Must be a team player and be willing to work hard and carefully.
