We currently have an opening for a Test Engineer vacancy in our Power R&D group. This position will be located at our Research Traingle Park facility.

SUMMARY:

The individual selected for this position will be part of an engineering team responsible for all aspects of Power Transistor development.  This engineer will be responsible for working with device scientist and engineering personnel to develop and perform wafer level and packaged component testing of power transistor device. The successful candidate will be a resourceful, hands-on, problem solver with the capacity to quickly grasp and resolve a wide range of technical challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing procedures, performing testing and improving processes for electrical testing of power transistor wafers and packaged devices.
  • Responsible for recording, analyzing, formatting and presenting test data and results.
  • Responsible for the design and construction of test equipment and fixtures required for the testing and long term characterization of the power transistor devices.
  • Generate and maintain testing and equipment documentation and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS or MS in computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics or equivalent experience.
  • Experience using general purpose test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal sources and power supplies.
  • Ability to read and understand circuit schematics.
  • Ability to assemble simple electrical and mechanical circuits and components.
  • Proficient at MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access.
  • High energy, self motivated attitude with strong communication skills and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds and at every level of the organization
  • Must have a “whatever it takes” attitude to get the job done
  • Strong attention to detail while effectively managing time
  • Candidate shall be a US Citizen or Green Card holder

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience making power device measurements using curve tracers and system measurement units (SMU’s).
  • Technical knowledge of semiconductor wafer probing equipment and procedures.
  • Ability to perform schematic capture and generate pc board layouts.
  • LabView and Visual Basic programming experience.
  • Data analysis and programming skills (Access, JMP, .Net, VB, or C++)
