Delivering innovative solutions to our clients requires the best people. At WD, architects, engineers, designers, and strategists work together to impact national and global brands - we create opportunities to improve revenue and profits for our multi-unit food and retail clients. We know that the best people will be drawn to the opportunity to define the future of retail. Our company is built on those beliefs. The two parts of our mission, innovative solutions and exceptional talent are paramount to our company’s growth and brand promise.

With over 400 talented associates worldwide, WD is licensed in all 50 states and Canada. We provide an environment where associates gain experience, train and mentor with the best, and build a successful career! With a philosophy of Real People, we leave our egos behind and focus on collaboration, innovation and open communication at all levels. This allows us to deliver on our commitment to our clients’ success. We currently have an opening for: Permitting and Planning Specialist.

As a Permitting and Planning Specialist, you will assist with administration of a broad range of zoning, permitting, and code research tasks. You are responsible for coordinating with team members in other engineering disciplines to work on various stages of client projects during the site development and entitlement phase. This role requires significant exercise of judgment on details and in making preliminary selection and adaptations of development alternatives.

In this role your key learning opportunities will include: developing advanced technical knowledge in your discipline; gaining exposure to client relationship management and project management skills; and working on a variety of client projects in restaurant, retail, and petroleum industry segments.

Minimum Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Planning, Public Administration or a related technical field
  • 3 years of work experience conducting zoning and building code research to determine municipal requirements and formulating the most efficient path for approvals
  • Experience negotiating entitlements while representing clients at public hearings, boards and commissions
  • Experience defining critical issues such as fees, process and document needs that could disrupt the development process
What matters to our associates matters to us and benefits and professional growth are at the top of the list. We provide a comprehensive benefits package that encourages our associates to live healthy lifestyles, reach financial goals and cope with the challenges of life at work and at home. WD supports and encourages work/life balance. We like to work hard and have fun. You might find us at a company sponsored BBQ, at an impromptu studio gathering, teamed up on the golf course, or hanging out at the ping pong tables.

Check us out on www.wdpartners.com and on our Facebook page. You will find an opportunity to collaborate with smart, down-to-earth people who innovate with national and global brands and grow every day!
