 Job Description 
SEPTA is currently recruiting for an experienced Automotive Mechanic.
Primary responsibilities will be to diagnose trouble, inspects, disassembles, cleans, repairs, replaces, adjusts, installs, reassembles and performs tests on controls and components of track and construction mechanical/hydraulic equipment and air tools.
Additional responsibilities include and not limited to: Replacement of part and units on Track Equipment, including Hydraulic system, electrical/ electronic control system, self-lubricating system, and air brake systems. Will also include gas, diesel and pneumatic tools.


* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Two year technical or related experience.

* Must be experienced in the mechanical and electrical inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of field and shop equipment, and air tools ((pneumatic and hydraulics).

Experience working on track and construction equipment preferred but not required.

* Must have ability to read, interpret, and work from drawings, schematics, etc.

* Must possess valid driver's license and be able to obtain CDL Class A permit within 90 days.

* Will be required to qualify in Book of Rules as required by the division standards.

* Must possess tools pertinent to the occupation.

* Subject to calls during emergencies and storms.

* Works from extension ladder of various heights

Starting salary is $29.8139/hour with an increase to $33.1266/hour after one year.
