 Job Description 
SEPTA has immediate openings for experienced Machinists in our Raiload Division. The responsibilities for this position include: laying-out, machining, shaping, and fabricating castings, beams, plates, shafts, various types of assemblies and other similar items. Additional duties include: setting-up, aligning, adjusting, and operating various types of shop equipment such as milling machines, shaper machines, grinders, presses, boring mills, drilling, etc. Grinds, shapes, and forms new cutters or machines. Sharpens and retempers drills, bits, cutter assemblies and balance blade assemblies.

Must be an experienced Machinist with at least three (3) years' experience (completion of apprenticeship preferred).

Must be familiar with air equipment repair work, saw and machine tool use and maintenance. Must be able to work from blueprints and drawings, have own hand tools and possess a valid driver's license.

The starting rate of pay for this job is $21.83/hour with an increase to $24.95/hour after 1 year. Top rate after 3 years is $31.19/hour. Wage rates in our City Division are higher.
