 Job Description 
SEPTA has a Manager of Revenue & Ridership Analysis position available.

The ideal person would have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and at least five (5) years of related fare collection, audit, systems, and/or financial experience.

The salary range is between 66K and 83K.


Responsible for revenue and ridership reporting for the Authority by division, mode, route and station via managing data sources from farebox, turnstile, and SEPTA Key Atlas. Responsible for publishing formal monthly and annual ridership reports, as well as stakeholder, federal, state and local presentation updates for the Authority. Provides oversight to ensure that reporting meets federal, state and local regulations. Conducts audits to ensure accuracy of reporting. Manages and assists in training staff for new SEPTA Key related duties. Coordinates and provides reporting to SEPTA departments and recommends changes to operational procedures to improve ridership reporting procedures. Responsible for fare collection system administration and integration of data as it relates to the development and implementation of SEPTA Key. Supports RRAS department goals, policies and procedures.


1. Directs and administers all phases of preparing, monitoring and reporting ridership for the Authority.

2. Establishes standards, policies and procedures for all areas of ridership reporting that meets federal and state regulations. Assures compliance with federal and state regulations relating to ridership reporting.

3. Coordinates with other SEPTA departments and consults with management at all levels on issues concerning ridership reporting as it relates to projects, events and planning.

4. Manages and assists in training staff to improve core competencies for new SEPTA Key related duties.

5. Develops standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data collection.

6. Participates in activities related to the investigation of fraud, abuse, and criminal activity relating to fares and fare collection data.

7. Oversees the development of customized reports for all ridership related inquiries from internal and external customers.

8. Coordinates all activities and establishes standards to be compliant with Act 44 reporting mandates.

9. Identifies opportunities for revenue enhancement and develops pricing quotes for promotional events.

10. Oversees the activities and management of fare collection system operations and reporting.

11. Assures procedures are in place to maintain records, database systems and related documentation for auditing purposes.

12. Develops the annual budget calendar for passenger revenue and ridership projections by division and fiscal month.

13. Coordinates the preparation of data requested on an ad hoc basis by SEPTA departments or outside agencies such as the FTA, PennDOT, DVRPC, the City of Philadelphia and Suburban Counties.

14. Coordinates all activities in the testing, development and implementation of SEPTA Key related reporting.

15. Performs other duties as assigned.


• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance, Accounting or related field and five (5) years of related fare collection, audit, systems, and/or financial experience required.

• An equivalent combination of education and experience (i.e., two (2) years of related experience equating to one (1) year of post-high school education) may be considered in lieu of the above requirements.

• Requires knowledge of the theories and practices of fare collection system reporting, and practical knowledge of rules and regulations that govern fare policy.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office’s Access, Word and Excel required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office’s PowerPoint and Crystal Database preferred.

• Demonstration of strong analytical abilities required. A work sample or demonstration of the candidate’s proficiency using Access may be part of the interview process.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required.

• Previous managerial or supervisory experience preferred.
