 Job Description 
Vehicle Electronic Technician

SEPTA is seeking an experience Electronic Technician. The starting rate of pay is $30.51/hour and top rate of $33.90 after 6 months.

Selected candidates will be scheduled to take the written qualifying test.


* Conducts diagnostic tests using equipment, such as, oscilloscope, diagnostic tester, computer, various meters, integrated circuits, transistors, and SCR testers, Hipot tester and Megger.

* Interprets current and voltage waveforms and graphs.

* Troubleshots modules to component level, makes necessary component replacements; Advises and performs operational tests on propulsion and charging system (including road tests) to determine cause of malfunction, makes necessary repairs, adjustments, and reports.

* Inspects, removes, disassembles, cleans, repairs, reassembles, adjusts, tests, modules and associated devices.


* High School diploma or equivalent required.

* Knowledge of operation, testing, repairing of mechanical, electrical, electronic and logic equipment as acquired in
Technical school (2 years) or its equivalent.

* Must be proficient in working from and making mechanical, electrical, electronic, logic drawings and schematics.

* Must have valid driver's license.

* Must pass pre-employment test at SEPTA's Testing Center.
